Virtual Press Conference

A group of MCC board members and staff announce support for "Dismantling the Structures and Repairing the Damage of Racism in Minnesota," which includes a vision for Truth and Reconciliation and Reparations. Speakers include:

Rev. Dr. Billy G. Russell is Board President of the Minnesota Council of Churches, President of the Minnesota State National Baptist Convention and Senior Pastor at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Minneapolis.

Presiding Elder Stacey L. Smith is Board Vice President of the Minnesota Council of Churches, Presiding Elder of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, St. Paul-Minneapolis District, and Senior Pastor of St. James AME Church in St. Paul.

Bishop Ann M. Svennungsen is Bishop of the Minneapolis Area Synod Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) and serves on the Minnesota Council of Churches Executive Committee.

Bishop Richard D. Howell, Jr., is Diocesan Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Dakotas District, Senior Pastor of Shiloh Temple International Ministries in Minneapolis, and serves on the Minnesota Council of Churches Executive Committee.

Rev. Dr. Curtiss Paul DeYoung is CEO of the Minnesota Council of Churches and a published author, speaker and educator on racial justice.

Rev. Jim Bear Jacobs is Director of Racial Justice at the Minnesota Council of Churches in charge of Healing Minnesota Stories and Parish Pastor at Church of All Nations in Columbia Heights.

Rev. Jerad Morey is Communications and Program Director at the Minnesota Council of Churches in charge of Respectful Conversations and Associate Pastor at Northfield United Methodist Church.
